Advocacy Mentoring: Youth Empowerment Program

We service students from 6th grade to first year of college to become confident, effective self-advocates for their education. Through monthly, hands-on guidance, students learn how to stand up for their educational rights constructively, articulate their needs, and navigate school systems with confidence.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Understanding Educational Rights: Learn the fundamentals of student rights and how they apply in real-life school scenarios.
    • Policy Research Skills: Master how to research district policies, state regulations, and federal educational laws.
    • Documentation Mastery: Learn how to accurately document occurrences, communication, and educational challenges.
    • Effective Articulation: Practice how to clearly and properly express concerns, needs, and occurrences to school leadership and officials.
    • Real-World Application: Analyze real-life case studies to practice problem-solving and self-advocacy in safe, guided exercises.
