Advocacy Mentoring: Youth Empowerment Program

We service students from 6th grade to first year of college to become confident, effective self-advocates for their education. Through monthly, hands-on guidance, students learn how to stand up for their educational rights constructively, articulate their needs, and navigate school systems with confidence.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Understanding Educational Rights: Learn the fundamentals of student rights and how they apply in real-life school scenarios.
  • Policy Research Skills: Master how to research district policies, state regulations, and federal educational laws.
  • Documentation Mastery: Learn how to accurately document occurrences, communication, and educational challenges.
  • Effective Articulation: Practice how to clearly and properly express concerns, needs, and occurrences to school leadership and officials.
  • Real-World Application: Analyze real-life case studies to practice problem-solving and self-advocacy in safe, guided exercises.

Consultation: Bring an Education Advocate to Your Next Meeting

Facing a challenging school meeting? Bring in an experienced education advocate to support and guide you.

Our advocates can:

  • Attend and observe school meetings (with permission)
  • Assess documentation, disciplinary or behavioral issues
  • Review evaluations, IEPs, SSTs, 504s, or BIP plans
  • Provide expert advice on both general and special education matters

Session length: 30 minutes to 4 hours


Advocate Training: Become an Education Advocate

Turn your passion for helping families into meaningful action.

This comprehensive training teaches you how to:

  • Research district, state, and federal education policies
  • Understand the difference between IEPs and 504 Plans
  • Know when and how to request evaluations or FBAs
  • Navigate the general and special education process
  • Apply advocacy do’s and don’ts effectively

Empower your staff to better assist the families you serve. This personalized training is designed for organizations with 10–50 team members and includes all training materials, catering (optional), and tailored content built around your organization’s needs.
